Women's Health, Gender and Empowerment Center of Expertise invites expressions of interest for journal editing role

The UCGHI Women’s Health, Gender, and Empowerment Center of Expertise (COE) is seeking expressions of interest from University of California researchers who wish to serve as editor(s) to lead the development of a Special Journal Issue on Women’s Health, Gender and Empowerment.  Applications can propose a single editor or a small group of editors. Applicants must be affiliated with any University of California campus.  The applicant(s) may suggest the journal but if the journal is not yet known, the COE can help the editor(s) identify the journal. Potential topics must include a health component and a gender or empowerment component. Suggested topics include (but are not limited to): sexual violence, male engagement, adolescent empowerment, gender-transformative interventions.

$25,000 is available to cover publishing/open access fees, stipends for editors, or staff time.

Expressions of interest must include the following (not to exceed one page):

  • Topic
  • Potential journal(s)
  • Name of Editor(s) and description of editing experience and why you feel you would be a good editor or editing team
  • A brief description your view/vision/insight on the topic
  • How your topic is relevant to women’s health, gender and empowerment
